Organiser's Comments

This was our first time organising an event.  Thanks to club colleagues for all the advice and on-the-day help.  Despite the rain it was great to see so many new people to orienteering.  This is what 'Come And Try It' events are all about, of course.

Planner's Comments

Thank you to all who braved the downpour on Sunday to try out my courses. Although most of you got quite wet you arrived at the download with a smile on your face which was a relief to me. I endeavoured to give everyone a varied run across the different sections of the park as well as some interesting route choice on the longer legs.

Thank you to Paul and Simon for helping put out controls in the morning (when it was dry!) and to Paul for his wise controller's comments. Alan and Lenka did very well orgainsing their first event aided by our merry band of helpers who were as efficient as ever.

I hope you all enjoyed the event sufficiently to return in the future. I hope to see you there

Controller's Comments

What a dreadfull day it turned out to be. But it was good to see so many turn up despite the heavy downpours we had. The day started of nice whilst setting out the controls and again just before the final finishers appears. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the courses and challenges set by Clive. Some more so than others as one family decided to have a second run and they were still smiling afterwards.

Well done to Alan & Lenka on their first go at organising an event. Due to their attention to detail every thing went smoothly on the day. Their prayers were answered with the sunshire that appeared in time for the packup allowing tents to hung out to dry.
