EVENT INFORMATION
Join us for our second event in this year’s Simon Peck Summer Series around Needham Lakes, in Needham Market.
Needham Lake offers a mix of open parkland, small patches of mature woodland and more recent plantings that encircle the main lake. There are some surfaced paths and many routes of mown grass with some undulations. The longer routes will also encompass the urban areas alongside the park. The Middle course will have some minor road crossing with the Long course crossing more significant roads and therefore not suitable for Under 16s unless accompanied.
The Simon Peck Summer Series is a cornerstone of SUFFOC’s orienteering calendar, offering a collection of events ideal for budding adventurers and seasoned explorers of the sport. The series is in memory of beloved past member of the club Simon Peck who was instrumental in mapping many of our event areas as well as running the summer series in years gone by.

Senior: £5.00/£6.00 if not a British Orienteering member

TIMING
Registration (pick up hired dibbers and Entry on the day) from 10 -11.15am
Start times from 10.15-11.15am
Courses close at 12.30pm. Everybody must report to download by then.
COURSE INFORMATION
(Subject to final controlling so distances may vary slightly)
Short - 1.7km, 17 controls, all within the park area. (10 metres climb over the route). Suitable for all.
Middle - 2.6km, 16 controls, mix of park area and urban with some minor road crossings. (20 metres climb over the route). Entrants must be 12 years old or over to run unaccompanied.
Long - 4km, 21 controls, mix of park area and urban with road crossings - not suitable for Under 16s unless accompanied. (30 metres climb over the route)
Dogs are allowed on courses if on a lead and under control.

Parking in the free car park to the East of the Lakes, accessed off the B1078 Coddenham Road.
