In the last few years we have travelled abroad in February for our orienteering fix. It has the benefit of orienteering in different terrain whilst also, usually, being a bit warmer than the UK.
In 2026 we travelled to Southern Spain for the Malaga Orienteering Sprint Camp. (MOSC)
This has previously been held in 2020 and 2024. We went in 2024 and loved it so much that we were keen to do it again.
This year the Monday to Friday consisted of 5 sprint training races around various old villages to the north of Malaga plus Torremolinos. After an early run there was time to do some sightseeing around the town and surrounding countryside. What’s not to like?
The sprint courses were excellent and tested different sprint techniques including swift decision making and turning around in the old towns with long route choice legs across the grain of the town road systems.
