Please note: work started on the new visitor facilities on 30th June 2021 and this may affect access to some potential routes & access to some control sites.
This course is situated at Needham Lake & is the shorter of the two "linear" courses based on the permanent orienteering posts (marked with red/orange & white triangles) set up adjacent to various features around the park. The park has its own car parks & the marked Start (the pink triangle) is on the earthbank on the northern edge of the one nearest the lake. The finish, marked by a double pink circle, is on the southern edge of the lake. The course has no time limit - the checkpoints need to be visited in the correct sequence - and is an excellent way to learn/practise map reading & orienteering as you explore the park.
Because this course is situated totally within the park it is idea for families - although the lake & river do present hazards so young children need to be accompanied.
