This contains information on our mapped areas. Visitors won't see the page as it is, but the info will feed into the views on the Event Areas & Area Overview pages.
If tagged "Next Event" the relevant fields will feed into the Events page &, if also tagged "Front page" onto the panel on the Home page which is set to display the next two events at any one time.
Note: some duplicate copies exist as these were needed once the club ran 2 events in the same area in rapid succession. There are also some for the MapRun events held in the summer, & to add miscellaneous items onto the Events page. These all need to be tagged "NotEventArea" to prevent them going into the Event Areas pages.
Description:
Christchurch Park is a large municipal park in the centre of Ipswich and contains a mixture of parkland with mature trees, formal gardens and an arboretum containing trees planted by each mayor of the town, a tradition dating from Victorian times. The mixture of features, plus its accessibility from the centre of Ipswich, makes it ideal for smaller fixtures such as our Simon Peck Summer Series and our Sport England-sponsored Ipswich-O events.

This is the first of our series of Ipswich-O 2023 events on weekend afternoons in our beautiful local parks. The courses will be designed for beginners, improvers, juniors and families - there will be a choice of courses from approximately 1 to 3Km in length - and we'll explain the basics and set you off with your large-scale map to plan your route to each of the checkpoints. Running is fun but not compulsory - walking is fine - and it's also OK to take part as a small group or individually!
