At the local qualifying heat of the Compass Sport Trophy held at Brandon Country Park on 22nd February, SUFFOC gained 3rd place and will be invited to the final in the autumn.
We had a fantastic turnout of 24 competitors across most of the classes.The final scores were very close, as we were only 2 points behind second placed LOG.
The top 13 scores count towards the total, but even those whose scores didn’t count towards our total may have pushed other club scores down.
We have just learnt that John Webb passed away in the early hours of the 20th of September and our thoughts are with his wife June and their family at this sad time.
This year our AGM will be preceded by an event in Orwell Country Park. If you would like to take part, please ensure you have downloaded the MapRun app on to your mobile phone beforehand. If you haven’t used the app before we will be able to get you started on the day.
Following this social event, we will hold our club AGM in the car park of Bridge Wood (part of Orwell Country Park). Hopefully the weather will be good and we can hold it on the benches with our picnic lunches. If it rains, we will adjourn to Clive and Sally’s for the AGM.
For a while now in February we have coordinated a holiday on the Iberian Peninsula with the half term holidays and some orienteering thrown in.Quite often it has been the Portugal O Meeting (POM) in which we have competed.POM, however, is always on the weekend at the start of Lent straight after Carnival.This year that was after half term so we looked on the World of O website for other events and found ABOM.
East Anglia is hosting this great weekend next year and the EAOA are appealing for all club members across the region to support this national event and please volunteer if you can.
