Suffolk Orienteering Club hosted the East Anglian Championships 2023 at Tangham on February 5th. It was a beautiful day to be orienteering in one of our best areas. Congratulations to the members of SUFFOC who are East Anglian champions this year . They are Ethan Radcliffe (M12), Theo Steventon Barnes (M18), Alesha Lowe (W20), Gareth Radcliffe (M40) and Sally Wilkinson (W55).
The Final Details file for our Tangham event in Rendlesham Forest is now available - and online entries via the Racesignup website are due to close this evening, 30th January.
As the event also includes the East Anglian Championships and the presentation of trophies is due to be held at the event, please remember to return your trophy to Clive Wilkinson, the event organiser, if you were a 2022 winner of your age category.
This year's East Anglian Championships are being hosted by SuffOC at their Tangham (Rendlesham Forest) event on 5th February. Clive Wilkinson, the organiser, has requested that all 2022 trophy holders please ensure that the engraved trophy is returned so that it can be presented to the 2023 winners on the day of the event. If you're unable to attend perhaps someone else in your club would be able to return it for you? Please contact Clive if there are any issues.
Congratulations to our team of Juniors who competed in the Peter Palmer Relay Competition recently, winning the Norfolk Trophy for smaller orienteering clubs and achieving 8th place overall.The event took place in a foggy Sutton Park, near Birmingham, on 10th/11th September. The relay had 6 legs altogether; the teams arrived and spent the night sleeping (or not!) in a sports hall, ready to start at 5am the following morning - all great fun! Our thanks to our volunteers who accompanied them.
